James Hynam and Sandy Keith were out in Elgin last week supporting the strikes.
Members of EIS, Scotland’s largest education union, were protesting cuts to further education at the University of the Highlands and Islands. Showing their solidarity, James Hynam, Moray Labour’s candidate for Moray West, Nairn, and Strathspey at the General Election, and Cllr Sandy Keith (Elgin City North) joined them on the picket line.
Commenting afterwards, Mr. Hynam said:
“Further education is an essential part of our society, and requires urgent action so that jobs and opportunities for students are not lost”.
