Labour councillor Ben Williams (Fochabers Lhanbryde) has welcomed the decision of Moray Council to fund a business case for the repair of Cloddach Bridge. Following the meeting, Cllr Williams commented:

“While I accept the complex and genuine arguments on either side of the debate, I am happy that the decision was made today to fund a business case for the repair of the bridge.

Cloddach Bridge serves as an important transport link not only for people in my ward of Fochabers Lhanbryde, but in the neighbouring ward of Heldon and Laich. Whilst I’ve stated in the past that I would prefer for the UK government to fund the entire repair, Heldon Community Council deserves extraordinary praise for their efforts in securing community funding.”

Moray Council will now proceed with a business case which, if successful, will secure £1.5 million funding from the UK Government in order to fund repairs for Cloddach Bridge.
